Premium Scan photographs a sleeve and uses computer vision and OCR (including Google Cloud Vision, with an on-device fallback), matched against databases like Discogs and MusicBrainz, to estimate the most likely release or pressing.
The Service may also offer text features powered by a large language model (currently Google's Gemini API) — for example to structure a scan or summarize a collection. There are no autonomous "agents" that act on your behalf today; if any are offered, the Agent Services section of the Terms will apply.
AI output — identifications, metadata, condition guesses, prices, valuations, summaries — is generated by automated, probabilistic systems and may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or wrong. AI can "hallucinate" (produce confident but false results).
You must independently review and verify any output before acting on it, especially for decisions with financial, insurance, valuation, or legal consequences. Output is not financial, investment, insurance, tax, appraisal, legal, or other professional advice. Results may vary over time, and we may change or discontinue AI features.
When you use an AI feature, the relevant input (sleeve images for Premium Scan, or selected details for text features) is sent — via our backend — to the applicable provider (Google Cloud Vision and/or the Google Gemini API) only to produce your result. We do not use your data to train our own models, and we do not sell it. AI-provider API keys are held server-side only. See our Privacy Policy for details.
In addition to our Acceptable Use Policy, you must not:
AI features are provided "as is" and "as available" and are inherently experimental. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, reliability, availability, or fitness for any purpose. Subject to your mandatory consumer rights and the limits in the Terms, we are not liable for losses arising from AI inaccuracies, hallucinations, failures, or your reliance on output.
